Overview:

Zhihua GUAN is a patent attorney in the Patent Law Group. As a registered patent attorney before the Sino Intellectual Property Office, he has experience in various areas of intellectual property law, including patent prosecution, invalidity/non-infringement opinions, and freedom-to-operate opinions. In particular, he specializes in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the fields of electronics and information engineering, including automatic control, telecommunication, automotive technology, electric engineering and computer science.

Mr. GUAN has also been involved in evaluating patents for inclusion in certain multi-party licensing programs. His work on the patent licensing programs concentrates on high-technology patent issues pertaining to a variety of fields, including optical disc technologies, video formatting and compression technologies, and other technologies.

Prior to joining NTD, Mr. GUAN has worked as a patent attorney for four years in the department of Intellectual Property of King & Wood Mallesons, and as a secondee taking the role of a senior IP counsel in Schneider Electric for one year.
