Ms. Cao serves as the principal of NTD Shanghai Office. Before joining NTD in 2009, Ms. Cao worked as patent attorney for over ten years and as Principal of Shanghai Office of China Patent Agent. Her experience predominantly lies in patent prosecution, invalidation,infringement and intellectual property portfolio management in various hi-tech areas including chemistry, chemical engineering, nanotechnology, biotechnology, materials science. She is skillful in drafting patent application documents, preparing responses to office actions in the substantive examination proceedings, dealing with relevant administrative litigation, and providing clients with infringement analysis. She is particularly experienced in patent invalidation and litigation, and has represented a number of overseas far-famed chemical/biotech companies with handling patent validity and enforcing patent right.
She once worked in a renowned IP Law Firm in Japan and another law firm in Germany and is well exposed to foreign IP laws. Domestically, she was actively involved in a Research Project appointed by the SIPO to propose amendments in terms of Compulsory License for the 3rd amendment of the Chinese Patent Law.
