INTA 2024 Annual Meeting — China Theme Series Event "China Case Law Update"
With the continuous development and changes in China's trademark legal system, new challenges are faced in legal, regulatory, and strategic aspects. Encouragingly, the evolving judicial precedents not only address new issues arising in practice but also propel legislative reforms. This seminar invites Chinese trademark law experts to share and interpret the characteristics presented by the latest case judgments:
l Strengthening of absolute grounds examination and requirements for trademark use intentions;
l Enhanced protection for well-known trademarks and the current status of coexistence agreements, expanding the scope of protection for prior rights;
l Providing cross-category protection for geographical indications, intellectual property abuse, and the covert use of others' trademarks through keywords;
l Strict application of the calculation method for damage compensation bases, continuously exploring the scope of compensation in criminal incidental civil litigation.
Special Seminar: Opening New Paths with Cases – Exploring the Mutual Influence between Trademark Law Revisions and Practices
