At a recent online event on November 11 between the China Trademark Association (CTA) and the Japan Patent Attorneys Association (JPAA), which celebrated the 20th Anniversary between CTA and JPAA, NTD Intellectual Property Attorneys, was honored with the Contribution Award for its great contributions to the communication and development of trademark work between China and Japan.
The online event also witnessed the signature of Memorandum of Cooperation (MOU) by President of the CTA, and President of the JPAA. Some members and individuals were also commended for their positive contributions to the development of trademark exchanges between China and Japan in the past 20 years.
As a follow-up of the event, the China-Japan Trademark Seminar was held where representatives and members discussed and exchanged views on trademark-related issues. Mr. Christopher Shen, senior partner of NTD, as one of the experts invited by CTA, shared his views on "The Distinctions between the Madrid System and Direct Trademark Registrations".
It is noted that the CTA and the JPAA signed the Memorandum of Cooperation in 2002. In the past 20 years, great changes have taken place in the trademark systems of the two countries. The exchanges between the CTA and the JPAA will have a positive impact on the development of their trademark systems.
