According to Zhejiang Intellectual Property Administration, the amount of patent pledge financing ranked top 1 in China. i.e., 40. 107 billion yuan in 2020, a 132.29% year-on-year growth. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Institute (AIR) of Tsinghua University and Tsinghua-CAE Joint Research Center for AI Study issued the 2020 AI Report, saying that China ranked top 1 for the number of AI patent applications over the past 10 years. The hotspot research areas included deep neural networks (DNN), feature extraction and image classification, etc. On January 21st, IFIClaims, a patent database provider, released a list of top 250 enterprises for the number of patents around the world. 8 companies and organizations from mainland were on the list, i.e., Huawei (24th ) for 17, 112 patents, BOE (57th) for 9, 373 patents, and Legend Group (82nd) for 6, 648 patents. They also ranked top 3 in China.
