According to the statistical data from January to March of 2020 released by National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA): 328, 000 patent applications for invention have been filed, and 86, 000 patents have been granted in China; 564, 000 utility model applications have been filed, and 344, 000 applications have been granted in China; 131,000 design patent applications have been filed, and 148, 000 designs have been granted in China. National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has received 12, 700 PCT international applications; 1,528, 000 trademark applications have been filed, and 1, 367, 000 trademark have been registered in China. From January to March of 2020, CNIPA approved 160 registrations of geographical indications, and approved 189 companies to use the products of geographical indication. The number of the registrations of the layout designs of integrated circuits reached 1, 657, among which 2, 071 registrations have been certificated.
From January to March of 2020, 328, 000 patent applications for invention have been filed, among which 86,000 were granted. Till the end of March, the number of valid patents for invention has reached 2,726,000, among which the domestic (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions) valid patents took up 1, 910, 000, and per 10 thousand people owned 13.6 patents for invention.
From January to March, 564, 000 utility model applications have been filed, and 344, 000 applications have been granted in China. Till the end of March, the number of valid patents for utility model has reached 545, 200.
From January to March, 131,000 design patent applications have been filed, and 148, 000 designs have been granted in China. Till the end of March, the number of valid patents for design has reached 186, 900.
From January to March, CNIPA has received 12, 700 PCT international applications, among which 11, 400 cases were from domestic applicants.
From January to March, CNIPA received 12, 400 reexamination requests, and closed 13,600 cases.
From January to March, the number of the Invalidation Requests reached 1,100, and 2, 000 cases were closed.
2. Trademarks
From January to March, 1,528, 000 trademark applications have been filed, and 1, 367, 000 trademark have been registered in China. Till the end of March, the number of valid trademarks has reached 26,382, 000.
From January to March, the number of the Trademark Opposition applications reached 31, 000, all of which were closed.
From January to March, CNIPA received 1, 684 Madrid Trademark International Registrations.
From January to March, CNIPA received 73, 000 applications of multiple trademark examinations, among which 66, 000 cases were closed.
3. Geographical Indications and Layout Designs of Integrated Circuits
From January to March, CNIPA approved 160 registrations of geographical indications, and approved 189 companies to use the products of geographical indication. By the end of March, the approvals of products of geographical indication totaled up to 2, 385; the companies approved to use the special indications totaled up to 8, 674; the trademarks of geographical indication totaled up to 5,478.
From January to March, the number of the registrations of the layout designs of integrated circuits reached 1, 657, among which 2, 071 registrations have been certificated.
