On June 18, 2019, AIPPI (The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) China and AIPPI US co-hosted an intellectual property symposium at Beijing, which had become a tradition for the two associations since the year of 2014. The annual meeting served as a significant opportunity for the two countries to communicate with each other.
Li Yi, Secretary General of AIPPI China, presided over this symposium. The delegates from China and US introduced the recent developments of the two associations at the Open Ceremony. Heather Lin, Senior Partner of NTD, Deputy President of China AIPPI, delivered a speech in the meeting. Lisa Jorgenson, Executive Director of American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), Patrick Coyne, Second Deputy President, also delivered speeches. The symposium discussed the latest IP developments in China and US. On behalf of AIPPI China, Zhang Rong introduced the protection of the computer-related invention patents and Huang Songquan gave a presentation about the effects of the 4th amendment to China Patent Law. The delegates from AIPLA introduced the latest evolutions on the patentability of inventions and the protection of business secret.
In the end, Huang Gesheng, Member of AIPPI China, made closing remarks. 2019 Joint Symposium by AIPPI China and AIPPI US came to a full success.
